SPARK Theatre Scratch Nights

SPARK Theatre Scratch Nights offers budding writers and performers the chance to showcase new work in an informal and supportive surrounding. Each piece will last up to 10 minutes with 5 programmed in throughout the evening. In between breaks there will be 3 short open mic slots that are filled on the night.

This is a pay when you feel event with opportunities to network with other artists and to give/receive feedback.

The scratch nights will:

• Give new writers a safe space to try their work.

• Give established writers a place to test new pieces.

• Open new pathways for theatre practitioners of all levels.

• Give acting students in the area a chance to meet writers and work on new theatre pieces.

• Give writers a chance to network with actors, producers and other independents.

• Uplift minority/under-privileged talent.

• Help to invigorate the Wakefield/Leeds and surrounding independent theatre scene.
